Data Deletion
Dopamine Guard stores data in two places: on your device (always) and in your optional account (only if you signed in and synced). Deleting one does not automatically delete the other — both paths are described below.
1. Delete local data (on your device)
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete local data (a confirmation step is required).
- This removes local Guard Plans, guards, focus history, companion progress, achievements, and preferences from the device.
- It does not cancel subscriptions (section 6).
- It does not delete cloud account data if you are signed in — request account deletion for that (section 2).
2. Request account deletion
- Email support@openintent.app from your account email;
- Subject: “Dopamine Guard account deletion request”;
- Include the account email in the message body;
- Or use the in-app flow: Settings → Account → Request account deletion (it pre-fills this email for you).
Support processes deletion requests in accordance with applicable law and confirms completion by email — deletion is never silent.
3. Request a data export
- Local data: Settings → Account → Export local data produces a readable JSON export on your device.
- Account data: email support@openintent.app or use the in-app request flow.
4. What is deleted with your account
- account profile (email/identifier)
- synced protected intents
- guard plan summaries
- focus session summaries
- companion progress
- achievements and settings
5. What may remain
- records we must keep for legal, fraud-prevention, tax/accounting, app-store transaction, or security purposes;
- anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies you, if any.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting local data or your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel through your store account settings — see the Subscription Terms.
